Comment: The Cataratas do Iguaçu are one of the greatest natural wonders of the Earth, rivalling or even eclipsing Niagara Falls. Just as the latter falls mark an international boundary, the Iguaçu Falls are on the border of three countries: Brazil, Argentina, and, not far away, Paraguay. Not far, too, from these Falls is the Itaipú Dam (1975-1984) between Brazil and Paraguay. Itaipu is the largest hydroelectric plant in the world: 8 miles long and producing 27 billion kwh per year. This plant produces 80% of both Brazil's and Paraguay's electricity.
